Jessica Cruz, LPC
Hello! My name is Jessica Cruz and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I obtained my Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have been providing services since 2019.
My experience in the field has included providing intensive therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults receiving inpatient psychiatric care at Hartgrove Hospital, and providing crisis intervention, therapy, and case management services at Pillars Community Health. I have worked with clients between ages 5 to 60 who have struggled with depression, anxiety, self-harm behavior, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, psychosis, bipolar, anger, ADHD, impulsivity, PTSD, trauma, and emotional abuse. I have experience providing trauma-informed care assessments, conducting comprehensive crisis assessments to determine the need for inpatient hospitalization, facilitating CBT and process groups, providing crisis stabilization therapy, and supporting clients with case management services.
I utilize a combination of treatment modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Liberation Health, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I believe in the healing process through human connection and strive to create a space where you can feel truly seen and understood. With warmth, compassion, and authenticity, I will walk alongside you as you explore your fears, insecurities, challenges, and trauma. By holding a space free of judgment, I hope to help you develop the tools you already have to transform emotional wounds and cultivate change in your life.
As a trauma-focused, somatic-informed, and anti-oppressive therapist, my goal is to create a therapeutic space where your humanity in its wholeness can be embraced. Throughout this journey I will support you as you unfold and process painful life experiences or difficulties, and guide you as you rewrite your own story and take back the power these experiences have had in your life. I will support you in developing a deeper relationship with your body by incorporating body-based techniques to help release stored trauma from the body and help you feel safe and balanced. I will also work with you to examine the oppressive societal systems that have likely created the conditions which have caused stress or trauma in your life. By having an integrated healing space, you can begin to experience yourself and the world in a different way and step into the dimension of you that you’ve always envisioned.
