Renee Keyvan, LSW

Welcome! My name is Renee Keyvan and I am a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in global studies with a concentration in human rights at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016 and my Master's of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2021. I work with adolescents and adults 12 years and older, and specialize in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, ADHD, depression, domestic and sexual violence, racial and LGBTQ+ identity development, intergenerational trauma, stress, and school-related concerns.

My primary objective is to establish an environment that is healing, welcoming, and non-judgmental. I recognize and celebrate the uniqueness of every person's identity, and I am devoted to cultivating an atmosphere of inclusivity that allows every client to embrace their genuine selves. Your therapeutic journey is deeply personal, and my role is to meet you precisely where you are on that path. I am a firm believer in empowering my clients with the tools and insights needed to navigate life's challenges both within and outside of our sessions. Together, we work towards rediscovering positive self-worth and self-compassion.

My approach to therapy is firmly grounded in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), exposure therapy (ET), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). I adopt a client-centered approach that is fundamentally strengths-based, allowing each session to be custom-tailored to your distinct needs and objectives. Therapy is a journey of resilience, and together, we embark on this path. I express my heartfelt appreciation for the privilege of accompanying you on this therapeutic journey.
