Andrew Belton
LCSW
Hi, I’m Andy Belton and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University.
One of my favorite quotes comes from psychotherapist Carl Jung: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.” This quote reflects how I approach both therapy and life. While I have the education and expertise to guide clients, I don’t hide behind clinical jargon or a “therapist voice.” I talk and act like a regular person—because I am one.
My professional background includes working in hospice care, where I supported individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments, as well as experience working with adults with learning differences, helping them navigate challenges and build on their strengths.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real, human conversation. Building strong rapport is essential to meaningful work, and I focus on creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. My goal is to foster a genuine connection that allows people to safely explore what they’re going through and move toward positive change.

My work integrates evidence-based approaches including:
While these frameworks guide our work, I always tailor therapy to each person’s personality, goals, and needs. My style is compassionate, relatable, and often includes a bit of humor—because while life can be serious, therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is approachable, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in your progress, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
